MICHAEL BALE - PRINCIPAL

Michael Bale has been practising all aspects of business and commercial law, dispute resolution, franchising, and conveyancing law since 1995 at Wilson & Co (12 years) and at other Wellington based commercial legal practices. Michael is based in our Wellington and Greytown Offices. Michael’s strengths are in all aspects of business and commercial law and dispute resolution including franchising, leases, conveyancing and subdivision, and corporate advice on commercial matters.

Michael’s interests include gardening and mechanical work, especially old motorcycles, particularly if they have sidecars.

MARK HINTON - PRINCIPAL

Mark Hinton joined the firm from a Hamilton practice in 1989. Based in our Carterton office, he visits Featherston on Thursdays. Mark’s main practice areas are property law for domestic, farming and business clients with an added emphasis on resource management and local government law. Mark is responsible for the firm’s technology requirements. He is is also a member of Law Alliance New Zealand IT Committee.

For some time now Mark has also been a member of the New Zealand Law Society’s Land Titles Committee, which has worked in partnership with other stakeholders in developing, initiating  and now upgrading the Land Information New Zealand’s “Landonline” project,   which continues to be a world leading digitalised land registration system.

Mark is married to Maria, who is a private Speech and Drama teacher and examiner. They have three adult children. Outside the office, Mark has an interest – along with others in the firm - in a coastal sheep / beef farm, aviation, and an active role in live theatre, both on stage and technical.

KEITH MCCLURE - CONSULTANT

Keith McClure was a principal in the firm from 1978 through until 2018. He continues to work for the firm as a Consultant based in our Carterton office and also works at our Masterton office. His areas of practice include property and commercial work, trusts and asset planning, employment law, and civil litigation. He is on the panel of Family Court lawyers available for Lawyer for Child appointment. Particular projects have included advising on formation of syndicated rural property investments.

Keith is married to Adrienne, a schoolteacher, and has two adult children. His outside interests include farming, skiing, tennis, flying, fishing and art collection.
